i should probably leave this topic for brian or brad, but as neithe of them has joined...
from forum i gathared that the order is all about developing "a rule of life". this, i assume, covers morallity, the way you live, and your worship of god.
this thread is for people to post anythig about the order. questions, corrections and vows of obediance are all welcome.
personally, im thinking about joining the order. anyone with me? _________________ ACH!!! Akummin allahut! Ku doseiru! Nien!! De acutun!! Pizza ga suki desu!!! Kotaiiru!! Mien korrka!!! |

Hi. But I am here, and am really happy to answer any of your questions. the three areas can be summarised as up, in, and out and: my relationship with God and how I pay attention to that (prayer) and how is nurtured in my church community (community) and how it works itself out in mission (service) Does that help. A rule of life is really useful to help keep us accountable to God and ourselves

I'm looking at joining OSS. I think it's got some great ideals about it. and the three aspects of prayer, community & service are really important and I think in our 'modern' world are so easily lost.
Rules of Life are interesting even before OSS - I'd encourage people look into and develop some of these even if you're not in OSS. Provides some good rhythms and opportunities to connect in with God. I currently have a couple in regards to only consuming fair trade goods (so I no longer drink tea, coffee, drinking choc & sugar unless it's fairtrade). The rules have really helped with my journey with God to see where I'm at and where I'm going. |
